Howard Knight

Howard Knight died peacefully at his home in Dockton Sept. 16, 2002. He was 69 years old.

He was born May 18, 1933, to Alice and Howard E. Knight in Seattle.

He grew up in Rainier Valley, attended Franklin High School, and joined the Navy in 1949.

He did many things during his life.

He was a 20-year Navy veteran, worked for the Vashon School District for 20 years, and belonged to Special Military Active Retired Travel (SMART), a military travel club, the Eagles, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a volunteer firefighter and was with the sailing crew for Steve Tuck.

He loved to fish.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sue Knight, daughters Barbara Malloch and her husband David of Korea, and Linda Snyder of SeaTac, six grandchildren, his mother Alice Knight of Seattle, a brother Fred Knight and his wife Darlene of Spokane.

His father and a daughter, Debra Lewis, died earlier.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Providence Hospice of Seattle, 425 Pontius Ave. N. #300, Seattle, Wa. 98109-5452, or the VFW or a charity of one’s choice.

Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery.

A memorial service will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Vashon VFW Hall.
