James Allen Fisher, Sr.

James Allen Fisher, Sr. died July 13, 2005, in Seattle. He was 82 years old.

He was born July 12, 1923, in Neoga, Ill. to George and Jessie Ruth Fisher. He grew up in Illinois and Arkansas.

He joined the Air Force and served with the 355th Fighter Group in England during World War II and was recalled during the Korean War.

He worked at Boeing as an airplane mechanic for 35 years.

He farmed and lived on Vashon since 1981 and loved every minute on the Island.

Survivors include his wife Mary Ann and children Janie (Richard Holmes), Nancy, Laura (Jake Lye), Jimmy, and Mary (Tom Scarsorie), two foster sons Tony and Wil Robinson and five grandchildren. Additional survivors include his brother Jesse, sisters Laura and Esther and many nieces and nephews.

His sisters Mary, Fran, Harriet and Alice and brothers George and Wiley died earlier.

Memorial services were July 19 in Seattle. Interment was at Tahoma National Cemetery at Kent
