Signe Luxton died Sept. 18, 2002, in Portland, Ore. with her children and husband by her side. She was 48 years old.

She was born Signe Alldredge Sept. 10, 1954, in Seattle.

Her talents included bead work and making jewelry. And some of her passions included the freedom of Leonard Peltier, saving Tibet, Native American culture, music, the beach, and her children.

Survivors include her mother Holly Swartz of Camano Island, sibblings Kim Alldredge, Jim, Cindy, and Summer, and children Joshua Ezra Alldredge of Olympia, Wa., and Hauna Lisa DeFaccio of Vashon Island. Grandchildren include Ezra Alldredge of Olympia, and Makena DeFaccio of Vashon, and her husband, David Bruce, who cared for her during her illness.

A celebration of her life will be Sept. 28 at the home of Tom and Hauna DeFaccio.
