Bakery to host benefit for former employee

Bob’s Bakery owner Paul Beytebiere plans to open the doors to his business this Sunday and dedicate all the proceeds from the day’s sales to his former employee, Renee Mroczek, who is battling cancer.

Mroczek is known to many islanders as one of the former owners of The Monkey Tree. She went on to bake for more than a year at Bob’s. Beytebiere would like to raise enough money to enable her to visit her parents in Michigan, he said. Additional donations will also be welcomed.

“She has been such a blessing to me, Beytibiere said.

Bakery hours that day will be from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
