An open letter to the Secretary of State: Democratic caucus process is epitome of incompetence

Secretary of State of Washington, Kim Wyman,
I am 21 years old I have performed two years of nation service through Americorps National Civilian Community Corps and Conservation Corps of Minnesota. I have seen many things in those two years from repairing low income housing in Flint, Michigan to fighting wild fires in northern Minnesota, disaster relief in a small town in South Dakota due to flooding where FEMA did not deem the flood worthy for state and federal funding and my team and I were the only help besides the other NCCC teams that came in the prior months to clean up trash from the Mississippi River banks on our weekends. I have seen this country.
Born and raised on Vashon Island, I was very enthusiastic to go and caucus this past Saturday, but with the time I had spent trying to get my voice heard, my gitty excitement had turned to something that I can only call rage. My vote was not counted due to the fact that I had to leave and go to work. I believed that those who pre-registered online could turn in out slips at the start time (10 a.m.) and we could be free to join discussions if that was our choice. I had left at 11:20 am while our vote counter of my district, Cove, was still counting. I have gotten over that injustice and moved on to the next subject of incompetence.
If the certain elected officials do not vote the way that the people have voted, beware that there will be a new wave of officials to fill those fancy seats in Olympia. There are many changes that we the people need to make and we can only start with ourselves.
Pardon my rambles I am full of fury and this is only the beginning of my work. I truly hope that you and your friends in the Capital do not sleep on the millennial generation because we know the truth.
Sincerely,
— Zachary Young
