in the second half, making it 3-1, but again the boys came back and scored, and the score held at 3-2 for awhile. With about 10 minutes left in the game, the men scored again. There were a flurry of shots on either end of the field, but the men held on, and the final score was 4-2.
Players at the game for the Riptide were Clese Christopherson, Tommy Delargy, Tommaso Nigra, Rey Rivas (hurt), Ethan Davis, Javid Nguyen, Tristan Mentink, Sam Briggs, Richard Rivas, Kieran Enzian and Julian White-Davis. Also playing for the Riptide were coach Oli Christopherson and Yusuf Al-Faris (who trained with the team all year and was dragged out of bed just minutes before the game to allow the Riptide to have one sub). The cup committee did allow for this addition, but did not allow two college players standing on the sidelines to join. There was some dialogue between all parties before the match, and it was generally agreed that the right decision was made.
Vashon men’s team was Skip Tavokolian, Michael McMillan, Rex McFarlin, Jamie O’Neil, Don Amick, Kevin Delargy, Andy Casey, David Leonhardt, Lorin Reinelt, Drew Piston, Jim Westcott, Sergei Serbreyakov, Rod McClain, John Coughlin, Abel Eckhardt, Max Chwaszczewski and Darragh Kennnan.
