LETTER: Support the opportunity to use the pool year ‘round

I am still pinching myself after my first swim under the new cover at the high school pool. It was fantastic. The water temperature was perfect, the indoor air felt fresh, the light under the clear cover was bright and the friendly staff made me feel welcomed, making for a very pleasant environment. There were no annoying drips from the ceiling as is sometimes the case with high humidity in enclosed spaces. Swimming comfortably in a 25-yard pool in the middle of winter does wonders for the mind, body and soul.

The new pool cover is such a gift for Vashon, and I am very grateful. Support this opportunity for year-around swimming by making use of it. I hope to see you at the pool.
