The Vashon High School boys’ soccer team played the Bellevue Christian Vikings in an away game that would confirm the league championship.

The Pirates possessed the ball throughout the entire game and were constantly targeted by the Vikings. The first two goals of the game were scored by Alden Hinden-Stevenson. Bellevue Christian scored in the dying minutes of the half due to a miscommunication between the Pirates. Right before the final whistle of the game, Tommy Delargy scored to bag his 31st goal of the season. The final score of the game was 3-1 — the Pirates are now Nisqually League Champions.

The Pirates will now face off against The Coupeville Wolves after they beat Bellevue Christian this past Saturday 3-0. The game will be played at Mt. Tahoma High school at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. If the Pirates win the game, they face off against the winner of the game between Charles Wright Academy and Klahowya for the district championship. The state championship tournament will begin next Tuesday, and the Pirates are hoping to have their spot secured.

The junior varsity squad also two games this past week, losing to Fife 5-1 on Monday with a goal by Chance Mentink and also losing to Charles Wright Academy 4-1 with a goal from Hunter Denall right off the penalty spot.
