The Vashon Park District, RJ’s Kids, and UMO Ensemble invite the community to lace up and roll out for the third annual Attack the Track skate event from 12-4 p.m. Saturday, September 20, at the BARC Skate Park.
This high-energy, family-friendly celebration of skate culture will feature open skating, music, contests, and performances that bring together skaters of all ages and skill levels. The event is designed to promote active recreation, community connection, and creativity on wheels. All types of non-motorized wheels are welcome to participate.
“This is one of our most exciting community gatherings of the year,” said Eric Wyatt, who is the recreation manager of the park district. “Attack the Track is about more than skating—it’s about coming together, supporting one another, and having fun.
Skaters can participate in timed runs, tricks competitions, and casual sessions. Spectators are encouraged to come cheer on friends and enjoy music and entertainment from UMO, adding an artistic flair to the action.
Admission is free, and all ages are welcome. Helmets are required for all participants, and safety gear is strongly encouraged. Minors will be required to have a parent or guardian sign a waiver at the event.
The Vashon Park District, RJ’s Kids, and UMO extends a special thank-you to Vashon Thriftway for its generous contribution to make this community celebration possible.
The BARC Skate Park is located at 10500 SW 228th St. For more information, visit the Vashon Park District website at vashonparks.org.
