A Seattle-based accordion quartet, Hell’s Bellows!, will take the Blue Heron stage at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22. This is the group’s first Vashon appearance.

Hell’s Bellows! was formed in 2006 to “bring the gospel of accordion chaos from Seattle to the world at large,” according to the ensemble’s MySpace page.

The group describes what they do as “dextrous finger wigglings and pokings, industrious toe tappings, industrial foot stompings, sighings, sightings and sporadic grinning.”

Collectively, Hells Bellows! has played for 47 years, and in concert has touched nearly 700 buttons and keys from Bumbershoot to Carnegie Hall and beyond.

The group performs mostly original music, in a repertoire that ranges from contemporary classical to gypsy/Eastern European. Four-part harmony vocals add texture and color to their live performances.

Members include Scott Adams, Amy Denio, Marchette DuBois and Eli Kaufman. All have diverse musical backgrounds and interests.

Tickets to Saturday’s concert are $10 for VAA members, students and seniors and $12 for general admission. To reserve tickets, call 463-5131.
