One More Mile

Vashon blues band One More Mile will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at the Vashon Sugar Shack. There is a $10 cover. Guitarist Jason Lollar and harmonicist Mike Nichols rock out with original songs and classic blues, funk and rock and roll covers with keyboardist Chris O’Brien, bassist Chuck Keller and drummer Wesley Peterson.

John Stowell Jams

Head over to the Vashon Center for the Arts Atrium (VCA) and Snapdragon on Saturday, Sept. 2, to hear jazz guitarist John Stowell for an afternoon and evening of musical conversation and improvisation with duet partner Bruce Phares.

Stowell, a traveling artist, will be at VCA from 1 to 3 p.m. and at Snapdragon from 7 to 9 p.m.

Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro

Vashon Opera will perform “The Marriage of Figaro” — Mozart’s classic comedy complete with plenty of on-stage shenanigans set to genius-level music — on Friday, Sept. 15, and Sunday, Sept. 17, at Vashon Center for the Arts. Whim W’Him Contemporary Dance

Whim W’Him dancers perform at the Vashon Center for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, featuring choreographers Hannah Garner, Dava Huesca, and Ana Maria Lucaciu on the Erickson stage.

Pop and jazz with The Manhattan Transfer

Join 21-Grammy nominated group The Manhattan Transfer at the VCA at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21 for an evening of melodic and dynamic jazz and pop. The group cut their teeth at clubs in New York and have released 29 albums over their storied career.

An evening of Chopin

The acclaimed father-son duo, Mark and Jonathan Salman, will perform works by Polish Romantic composer and pianist Frederick Chopin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at VCA. Mark is a concert pianist, and Jonathan is a cellist. Find out more and get tickets at vashoncenterforthearts.org.
