Pacific Northwest Theatrical Intimacy presents workshop

The Vashon DOVE Project and Pacific Northwest Theatrical Intimacy will present a two-part introductory workshop on best practices for intimacy in theatre. Participants will be introduced to the foundational concepts behind theatrical intimacy practices and will learn and discuss practical ways to apply these concepts across all areas of production and administration. This workshop is designed for theatre-makers of all kinds and levels of experience.

It takes place on Saturday, Oct. 30, via Zoom. The first part of the workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the second part will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are on a sliding scale. Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda de Comunidad

For the third consecutive year, the Vashon Center for the Arts (VCA) is hosting its Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda de Comunidad. The community is invited to participate by adding photos and mementos in the VCA’s northwest courtyard in remembrance of those who have passed away. VCA will also host a free Nichos box, or traditional shadow box, workshop from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1 in the courtyard. The event is free and open to all.

Offerings can be brought in beginning Oct. 28 and the Ofrenda de Comunidad will be on display until Nov. 2.

Kat Eggleston in Concert

Kat Eggleston will perform at Kay White Hall at the Vashon Center of the Arts to benefit the work of Vashon Youth & Family Services. Eggleston is widely known on Vashon and beyond for her musicianship and songwriting. The concert is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6. Tickets, $25, are available at vashoncenterforthearts.org.

Los Lobos visits Vashon

East-L.A. bred band Los Lobos will perform two shows at Kay White Hall at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 11 and 12.

Los Lobos has sold millions of records, won prestigious awards and is widely known for its exploration of genres—such as norteño, Tejano, folk, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll and punk.

David Grisman’s Dawg Trio with Danny Barnes & Sam Grisman

Mandolin innovator, Jerry Garcia collaborator and creator of “Dawg” music David Grisman teams up with his son, Sam Grisman on bass, and banjo player Danny Barnes to deliver the Dawg Trio.

The Dawg Trio will perform two shows on Sunday, Nov. 14 at Kay White Hall, at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Get tickets at vashoncenterforthearts.org.
