The second annual UMO Circus Spectacular will feature performers taking to the air and tumbling on mats for an evening of family fun beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6,  at the Open Space for Arts & Community.

The event promises acts by UMO’s  advanced aerial students, who have been studying for over seven years; new and old tricks by the UMO ensemble; the circus skills combined with dance and physical theater of Seattle’s Acrobatic Conundrum plus the quirky sound of musical duo Miles and Karina, whose most recent work includes composing silent film scores for the Seattle International Film Festival.

It will be a night not just for watching but for participating — either at the Circus Midway, where UMO teachers will give instruction for the Tumbl Trak and balance beam, or on the floor dashing for a divine dessert or raffle prize.

Proceeds from the evening will support the UMO School of Physical Arts, including the purchase of equipment for the new Parkour course, scholarships and additional classes. It will also benefit the artistic work of UMO Ensemble, including future performances of the acclaimed “Fail Better: Beckett Moves UMO,” which recently won its second Footlight Award from the Seattle Times.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for youth or $50 for a family and are available at      circusspectacular.brownpapertickets.com and at the door.
