The next Club O — a regular night- club event at the Open Space for Arts & Community — will feature Thick as Thieves at 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22.

The Los Angeles-based band lists influences, including Nas, Tupac, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Fleetwood Mac. Kiki Means will open.

Since forming in 2009, Thick as Thieves has performed around the Los Angeles music scene, including Sunset Strip venues such as The Whiskey, Troubadour, House of Blues and The Roxy. Tours of the Northwest, the Midwest and the Northeast have showcased the band’s talent in the college marketplace.

The band’s manager is Zach Mann, who grew up on Vashon and now lives in Los Angeles, where he also works as a film producer.

Opener Kiki Means has been immersed in music since her island childhood. She has recently explored her talent for composition and songwriting, while continuing to cover songs by other singers and songwriters who have inspired her.

Admission is $10 to Club O, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
