Get a sneak peek at “Venus The Vixens: Games of Love”

The show will run May 30-June 16, at Emerald City Trapeze in Seattle.

After 20 years of emceeing and organizing auctions, corporate parties and trainings, islanders Martha Enson and Kevin Joyce, of EnJoy Productions, are returning to their theater roots, with a new interactive rock musical, “Venus & The Vixens: Games of Love.”

Conceived and directed by Enson, the show will run May 30-June 16, at Emerald City Trapeze in Seattle.

But first, Enson and Joyce, a married couple, will kick-start and preview the show at a free event at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at Open Space for Arts & Community.

The free evening, where islanders will be asked for support, will include games, food and drink for purchase from Ruby Brink, performances and lots of friends, said Joyce, who described “Venus & The Vixens” as EnJoy’s biggest and most ambitious project to date.

Creating the show, Joyce said, has been a labor of love, inspired by a deep urge for connection.

“We all need beautiful events that bring us together, and inspire us to connect, laugh and be moved,” he said.

“Venus & The Vixens” — an interactive rock musical with music by Sari Breznau and a libretto by Enson, Breznau and Caela Baile — is a fresh take on the tale of Cupid and Psyche’s epic love story, filled with games of chance, aerial flourishes, physical challenges, and playful surprises.
