Metropolitan Opera singer joins Vashon Opera as guest artist

Vashon Opera will present the classic and compelling opera “Tosca” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 Sunday at the Kay White Hall. A reduced-rate dress rehearsal will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Critically acclaimed tenor Noah Baetge will make his Vashon Opera debut singing the role of Cavaradossi. Baetge is a frequent guest artsit with the Metropolitan Opera.

Joining Baetge will be a stellar cast of stars including Joshua Conyers making his Vashon Opera debut as Scarpia.

Several Vashon Opera favorites return for Tosca. Tenor Anthony Webb has the role of Spoletta. Baritone Barry Johnson returns as the Sacristan. Bass Konstantin Kvach will sing the role of Angelotti. Jennifer Krikawa returns to sing the title role of Tosca.

Conductor James Brown once again will conduct, stage direct and arrange the chamber orchestral score. Joe Farmer reprises his role as chorus master, and the production will include a 28-member chorus, a children’s chorus, the orchestra of 22 musicians and a cast of opera singers from Vashon and beyond.
