Music events coming up on the Rock

Scattergun and Stoney Beach will perform at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Red Bicycle Bistro & Sushi.

Scattergun and Stoney Beach will perform at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Red Bicycle Bistro & Sushi. Scattergun is a country rock band, and Stoney Beach plays music inspired by blues, punk and American rock. The show has a $5 cover charge and is for all ages until 11 p.m.

The Island band 5:01 will perform a free show at Café Luna at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27. The players are Jack Barbash, Luke McQuillin, Geordan Mitchell, Doug Ringer and Mark Wells. The band plays rock-flavored country and folk tunes.

Nick Vigarino will play at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at Red Bicycle Bistro & Sushi. Vigarino is a songwriter and slide guitarist who has wowed audiences all over the Northwest. Glenn “That Guy” Rukwid will open the show. There is a $5 cover charge, and the show is open to all ages until 11 p.m.

Heart of the Sound Events and GYROGLYPHIX will present a benefit for Vashon Maury Community Food Bank from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at Hanna Barn Studios, 7712 S.W. Point Robinson Rd. The evening will open with a meditation on gratitude, followed by a chance to dance to the guitar, flute and percussion music of Richard Waits, Rod Smith and guests. Admission is $15 plus a canned food donation. All proceeds go to the food bank.

A céilí dance will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Grange Hall. The Vashon Céilí Band will provide Irish dance tunes starting at 7 p.m. Alicia Guinn, a well-known Seattle dancer, will teach and call all the dances. The suggested donation is $7.

Robyn Landis, Mark Wells and Charles Reed will play a free show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at Café Luna. Landis released her second album, “Many Moons,” in June, and the disc is receiving national attention. Since its release, Landis has won grand prize in the international John Lennon Songwriting Contest and was selected as a 2009 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist.

VHS Football Coach Mark Ledbetter will play bass with The Seattle Seven on Sunday, Nov. 27, at Sound Food. Doors open at 6 p.m. Music starts at 7 p.m.
