New dance show swirls into the Blue Heron

The wall dividing the center of the Blue Heron space will disappear this weekend to make room for a new dance show featuring 10 swirling vignettes created by local choreographers.

The wall dividing the center of the Blue Heron space will disappear this weekend to make room for a new dance show featuring 10 swirling vignettes created by local choreographers.

“When Opportunity Knocks,”  will be performed at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, at the Blue Heron. The first show, with ticket prices of $10 and $13, is a one-set show. The 8 p.m. presentation will be a full-length show with an intermission; tickets to that are $13 and $16.

The show is the creation of Elizabeth Mendana Shaw, Abby Enson and Leah Mann. Guest performers and other choreographers who will contribute to the proceedings include Martha Enson, Nicole Grey, Lynelle Sjoberg, Hallie Aldrich and Karen Nelson.

Live music by performed by Paul Swenson, music director for the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, who will play piano and accordion on Saturday. Ela Lamblin will provide electronic looped compositions created from his original instruments. Christopher Overstreet will play piano and provide electronic accompaniment.
