‘Nuncrackers’ is coming up

Drama Dock’s annual holiday production, “Nuncrackers,” is an irreverent musical romp through a convent and Catholic school, starring a cast of 14 Island thespians and directed by Drama Dock stalwarts Chris Ott and Elizabeth Ripley. The show, created by Dan Goggin, is part of a successful franchise of “Nunsense” shows, which have been produced more than 5,000 times worldwide and translated into 21 languages. The show will be presented at the Blue Heron at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 17, 18, 23 and 26, and at 2 p.m. Dec. 19. There will also be a 2 p.m. performance on Dec. 26. Help John Browne’s family

Red Bicycle Bistro will host an open mic to raise funds for the family of John Browne, a well-known Islander who was seriously injured in an accident on Nov. 29. The event will take place at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18. Musicians will play songs and everyone will be welcome to share stories about Browne. Celebrate the Solstice

“A Midwinter Night’s Dream,” a Solstice celebration and feast, will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Vashon’s Sportsmen’s Club, at 19720 Singer Rd.
