Gail Howard creates minimal abstract work, mostly acrylic on wood panel, but also gouache/watercolor on paper using a wood-burning tool to make patterns in the paper. Her studio is in Brenno’s Garage located behind Giraffe.

Café Luna will continue to show artwork by Kathy Larsdotter.

Paintings by Allison Trundle will be exhibited at Hastings-Cone Gallery.

Ray Pfortner traditionally shows work from his Shoot to Show class in July at The Hardware Store Restaurant. This year, the exhibit will be a group show from the WTE Artists Exhange tour he and his wife, Nancy Wing, led to Cuba. See story on page 12. Photos from McMurray Photo Exploratory 2016 will also be shown.

Hinge Gallery will open the doors of its new location with an exhibition of islander John Anderson’s large scale photos. His work has been seen at the Tacoma Art Museum and Seattle galleries.

Raven’s Nest Gallery will feature jewelry collections with the theme of Native American feathers, an important symbol within the Native culture representing freedom, power, wisdom, honor, trust, strength and more. A preview of new apparel by Alano Edzerza will be held between 6 and 9 p.m.

VALISE Gallery will hold an opening party from 6 to 9 p.m. for a new show called “3” that will run through August. Gallery member Rachel LordKenaga invited Seattle artists Kate Anthony and Robin Richardson to exhibit their work with her. The women have known each other for years and each are explore abstraction.

“All Together Now” at VCA Koch Gallery is a show with art by Cappy Thompson and Dick Weiss. The two artists each work in glass; but for the past seven years, they have created a collaborative body of hand-painted ceramics at Pottery Northwest. Their work features people, peacocks, fish, robotic insects, trees, birds, flowers and more.
