Acclaimed classical singer Natalie Mann will visit Vashon this week to debut her new music video and give a small private concert.

Mann, a lyric soprano from Southern California, filmed her recent music video entirely on Vashon Island. The video, featuring the song “Old Tunes” from Mann’s album “Experience,” has the theme of dressage and features local rider Audrey Zehnder. Shot at a private arena on Wax Orchard Road, the video was edited by Pat Paquette. Shango Los directed the endeavor.

There will be a gathering to celebrate the release of the music video at 5 p.m. Sunday, August 2, at Snapdragon. The video will be screened, and Mann and Zehnder will be on hand to discuss music, singing and horses.

The following night, Aug. 3, Mann will give an intimate performance at a private home overlooking Colvos Passage. Christopher Overstreet will accompany on piano.

Mann is a renowned recitalist and champion of American Art Song, a composition written for one voice with piano. She received critical acclaim for her debut performance at Carnegie Hall. She has also performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and with the La Jolla Symphony, as well as the South Shore Orchestra during its New Year’s tour in China. In 2013, she was a finalist for the American Prize for Art Song.

Of Natalie’s Carnegie Hall concert, Opera Insider critic Abigail Wright observed: “Ms. Mann does an excellent job of continuing her brilliantly sustained legato, undeniably stunning high notes, and impressive quality of pitch and tone center across the board.”

Natalie is a recipient of a Metropolitan Opera Encouragement Award, and many other prestigious honors.

Tickets to the Vashon performance are limited to just 30 and can be purchased at https://nataliemann.eventbrite.com. The location will be printed on the ticket.
