Vashon Sings!: A pop-up choir

Join Vashon Center for the Arts as we host our first ever Pop-up Choir for a Cause on Thursday, December 8th from 7:30 to 9:00pm in the Katherine L White Hall.

For many the last several weeks of post-election craziness has turned us all blue. As we enter this period of tumultuous transition in our country, we all feel the need to take a stand and have our voices heard. What better way than through the healing power of music and John Lennon’s “Imagine!”

In his words: “Imagine all the people living life in peace…” These timeless lyrics continue to impact all those who hear them.

Our mission is to bring together the people of Vashon Island to create a passionate musical message of unity, peace and healing that will be filmed, edited and released to the masses on social media. Singers of any age are welcome, and reading music is not a requirement! We’ll provide the space, the leadership, the musicians, the music and the lyrics. You provide your voice and your desire to help heal the country! Joe Farmer of Vashon Island Chorale and well-known island accompanist, Evan Stults, will lead the event. We ask that you wear bright colors to the event for greater visual impact.

The event is free to the public, but space is limited to the capacity of the hall. We ask that you reserve your ticket to the event on our website, VashonCenterfortehArts.org
