Hear the blues at Snapdragon

Michele D’Amour & The Love Dealers will bring their signature blues/roots sound to Snapdragon for a free show from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Duo Finelli will entertain

Vashon Allied Arts’ Family Series will open its new season with “Las Calacas: A Dia de Muertos Clown Show” by Duo Finelli at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Blue Heron.

The clowning duo will celebrate the Mexican holiday with classic folklore brought to life through cartoonish comedy in Spanish and English. The show will include traditional music with original instrumentation on accordion, ​tuba, ukulele and theremin.

Tickets are $6 for youth and $8 for adults and are available at VAA and www.vashonalliedarts.org.

Vaudeville circus will perform at Open Space

A new version of an old vaudeville circus, “The New Old Time Chautauqua,” will spring to life at the Open Space for Arts & Community at 4 p.m. Sunday.

The Fighting Instruments of Karma Marching Chamber Band/Orchestra will accompany the four main acts, including Nanda, an acrobatic ninja theater troupe; the Mud Bay Jugglers; Pepperjill & Jack and Matt “Poki” McCorkle. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

Learn about senator “Scoop” Jackson at Blue Heron

Vashon Allied Arts’ popular Arts & Humanities series will open its sixth season with a conversation about former Washington state senator Henry M. “Scoop” Jackson at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Blue Heron.

Two senior leaders of the Henry M. Jackson Foundation, president John Hempelmann and executive director Lara Iglitzin, will discuss Jackson’s legacy in foreign policy, energy, education, public service, the environment and human rights.
