Island Escrow has recently been sold to Aegis Land Title Group, a title and escrow service company with offices throughout Western Washington. The new Vashon branch is fully operational as of Tuesday, Feb. 1.

“Island Escrow has been in business on Vashon since 1979, however, no title company has ever had a physical presence here,” said Dayna Muller, an Aegis Land Title Group brand ambassador, in an email to The Beachcomber. “So having the two combined in one convenient location is a tangible advantage to the real estate community.”

According to Paul Hoffmann, Aegis Land Title Group’s owner and president, Aegis purchased their first title company in Feb. 2015 in Kitsap County. As of 2022, Aegis Land Title Group has offices throughout Snohomish, King, Pierce, Thurston, Mason and Kitsap Counties.

“At this point, we are the only family-owned title company left in Western Washington,” said Hoffmann in an email to The Beachcomber.

Similar to Island Escrow, Aegis Land Title Group offers normal escrow services. However, the primary difference between Island Escrow and Aegis is that the company offers title support to its customers.

“We can now do title work, customer service work and listing support on the island,” said Hoffmann.

For Hoffmann, having a new Aegis office on Vashon was a “great fit, both culturally and practically for our family first company.”
