Island churches join together for Holy Week services

Several island Protestant churches are banding together to celebrate Holy Week.

Several island Protestant churches are banding together to celebrate Holy Week.

A Palm Sunday service, at 10:30 a.m. March 24, will take place at Vashon Lutheran Church, joining the congregations of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit and the Lutheran Church.

A Maundy Thursday service at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, will take place at the Church of the Holy Spirit, in collaboration with the Lutheran Church.

A Good Friday service, at 7 p.m. on March 29, will take place at Vashon Presbyterian Church, combining the congregations of the Presbyterian, Episcopal and Lutheran churches.

St. John Vianney Catholic Church’s Holy Week schedule includes a Palm Sunday Mass at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, March 24, and a Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 28, followed by an all-night Paschal Vigil at 9 p.m. A Good Friday Stations of the Cross with Procession will take place at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 29, with the Liturgy of Good Friday at 7 p.m. that evening.

St. John Vianney’s Easter Vigil begins at 9 p.m. Saturday, March 30, with Easter Mass at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, March 31.
