Kayaker found dead near Point Robinson identified

A deceased man found near an overturned kayak off Point Robinson on Saturday afternoon has been identified, according to the King County Medical Examiner's Office.

Charles E. Paul, 65, of Seattle, died on Saturday, Oct. 1, when he accidentally drowned, authorities at the Medical Examiner’s Office said Wednesday.

King County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cindi West said Monday that boaters spotted Paul in the water about 100 t0 200 yards south of Point Robinson around 1:55 p.m. Saturday. His kayak was found shortly after. Authorities retrieved Paul and his kayak was towed to the Des Moines Marina.
