Learn, build, grow: Vashon Home and Garden Fair returns

The Vashon Island Home and Garden Fair will make its grand return in March.

After a multi-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Vashon Island Home and Garden Fair will make its grand return in March.

Organized by the Vashon Chamber of Commerce, the fair is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Vashon High School.

The fair is a celebration of local craftsmanship, sustainability, and the charm of island living. This year, attendees can look forward to a diverse range of vendors, from the latest in eco-friendly home design and build, landscaping, financing, remodeling, home services, and everything islanders need to live their best in the Northwest’s best place to live.

Rachel Waldron, of Waldron Design, is helping to organize the event and is enthusiastic about its return.

“We’re thrilled to participate in the Home and Garden Fair, not just to reach potential clients, but to contribute to the success of this community event,” she said. “By showcasing our work alongside other talented vendors, we collectively elevate the design landscape on Vashon Island and create a valuable resource for homeowners.”

For businesses, the fair is a long-awaited opportunity to reconnect with the community, showcase new products and services, and foster relationships that have been challenging to maintain through the digital divide so long imposed by the pandemic. It’s a chance to demonstrate resilience, innovation, and commitment to the island community in a festive and engaging environment.

Whether visitors are looking to renovate their homes, cultivate their gardens, or simply draw inspiration from the creativity of local artisans, there’s something for everyone.

Keeping it lively, door prizes will be given away throughout the free event, and Aeggy’s food truck will be dishing up its signature breakfast sandwiches.

Reviving the event is intended to underscore the importance of community events — bringing people together, fostering economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life on the island.

“Vashon is all about sharing resources, especially for the home,” said Connie Sorensen, the co-chair of the Chamber’s board of directors. “The Connie Sorensen Group has more than real estate expertise. We have more than two decades of experience working with local resources for nearly anything that you can imagine as it pertains to home repairs and maintenance. The Home and Garden Fair offers a chance to meet up with many vendors at one time and learn about more.”

The event is free and open to the public. Learn more at VashonChamber.com/homefair.
