Before traveling, riders should check www.kingcounty.gov/metro/snow for the most current status of Metro service.

Metro officials say they’re keeping a close eye on the bigger storm forecast to arrive Wednesday. If a major storm hits the entire county, Metro may have to move to its Emergency Service Network (ESN) for the first time. That means Metro bus service would be severely reduced to just 52 core bus routes serving only key arterials and transit centers.

Routes 118 and 119, which serve Vashon, would not be running in such an event, according to Metro’s website.

A decision about Wednesday service will be made on Tuesday.

For travel on Tuesday, check Metro’s snow page before leaving. Updates to the online information begin as early as 4 a.m. and continue as needed until travel conditions improve. Metro officials urge commuters to sign up for “transit alerts,” which let residents know when bus service status changes.
