Road closure: King county road crews will close 141st Ave SW between SW 220th St and SW 216th St from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. from July 7 to August 25, Mondays through Saturdays, to replace a broken pipe beneath the road. Occasional Sunday work is possible. There is no posted detour on this sole-access road, but emergency vehicles will have access through the work zone if necessary.

Local students recognized: Mateo Nigretto Ellner was named to the spring 2025 Dean’s List at University of Maryland Global Campus, which requires maintaining a 3.5 grade point average or higher.

Elias Buffington graduated magna cum laude on Sunday, May 25, with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Whitman College.

July 4 Ferry travel: July 4 will bring heavy ferry traffic. The busiest sailings for vehicles, according to Washington State Ferries, will likely be westbound (or onto an island) Wednesday through Friday, July 2-4, then eastbound (or off island) Saturday and Sunday, July 5-6. Also, that day, the Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth Triangle route will run on its weekend timetable. All other routes will operate on their normal Friday schedules. Holiday sailings are marked on each route’s schedule.
