The investigation into recent thefts on the island is ongoing, but some stolen property has been recovered, and the King County Sheriff’s office would like to return the belongings to their rightful owners.

Numerous items have been recovered, according to Detective Jason Stanley, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, including jewelry, several chainsaws and tools.

The Vashon substation will be open three days next week for islanders to stop by, identify and collect items that were stolen. All those who have been the victim of a theft are welcome to look at the items, Stanley said, whether they reported the theft or not. When possible, people should take their case number, any serial numbers they may have, photos of missing jewelry and their photo id with them.

The hours the substation will be open are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28; and 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 29.

The substation is located 19021 1/2 Vashon Hwy. S.W.
