Taxing districts prepare budgets

Several island agencies are planning discussions and hearings.

Vashon Island Fire & Rescue

Fire Chief Matt Vinci will hold a Coffee with the Fire Chief session from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Vashon Coffee Roasterie, to discuss the Vashon Island Fire & Rescue’s (VIFR) 2023 budget and engage with the community. VIFR’s public budget hearing will take place at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21 at the VIFR Training Center, with a remote option. The district’s November board meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, also in person at the training center, with a remote option.

Vashon Health Care District

Vashon Island Health Care District invites islanders to review its proposed budget for the coming year, now online at vashonhealthcare.org. A budget hearing will take place on Nov. 14, with board approval scheduled for Nov. 16.

Vashon Park District

Vashon Park District’s Nov. 22 and Dec. 13 meetings are the final two chances to weigh in on Vashon Park District’s 2023 budget. For more information, visit vashonparks.org.
