Water District 19 discusses new plan

Water District 19 will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14 to present a draft of its 2020-2026 Water System Plan. The plan — now in draft form and being reviewed by the state Department of Health — examines the adequacy of the district’s supplies to meet its customers’ demand for water, and provides a blueprint for more than $4 million in capital investment by the district over the next decade. According to the draft plan, the district aims to replace aging water mains, thereby reducing leakage and improving the quality of the water delivered to the 1,500 households and businesses that it serves. The meeting will take place at the District’s offices, 17630 100th Ave. SW. Masks are required.

Comunidad Latina de Vashon will present “Noche de Luces,” an outdoor Latino market, from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, in the Sheffield Building’s parking lot at 18850 SW 103rd Ave. (See story, page 8.)

Morning Prayers at the Burton Community Church

All are welcome to join in the singing of morning prayers in a Benedictine style, from The Mundelein Psalter, also called “Liturgy of the Hours.” Prayers will be offered from 6:30 to 7 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at Burton Community Church.
