Halloween fun is back on Vashon

Those who missed Vashon’s traditional Halloween celebration in 2020 are in for a treat. Vashon Island Chamber of Commerce will once again present the island’s traditional night of revelry, with businesses welcoming trick-or-treaters, in Vashon’s town core, from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. Some businesses will host additional activities including live music, costume contests, and more, after 7 p.m.

Vashon Highway SW will be closed between SW 171st Street and SW 178th Street from 4 p.m. until midnight for the Halloween festivities. Check in with your favorite business owners to see what they have planned.

Camp Burton hosts 2nd annual Halloween drive-through

Celebrate Halloween with Camp Burton during its second annual Halloween drive-through on Saturday, Oct. 30. Trick or treating will be held along a Tim Burton-themed drive from 6 to 9 p.m. The event is free and for all ages, and does feature an optional section, with extra spooky stuff, for ages 18 and older.

Camp Burton is located at 9326 SW Bayview Dr., right off the Burton loop.

Park District 2022 Budget Meetings

The Vashon Park District will be engaging in its 2022 budget process throughout the month of November. The public is invited to share their ideas and interests with the Park District by attending their regularly scheduled board meetings at 7 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 9 and 23. The meetings will be held via Zoom. To access the meeting links, go to vashonparks.org and select “Board Meeting Agendas” under the Administration tab.

Explore Vashon’s natural history
