Angus McLeod

Angus D. McLeod, a resident of Vashon Island for 55 years, died Jan. 27, 2005, peacefully at his home on Quartermaster Harbor. He was 92 years old.

Mr. McLeod was born Sept. 30, 1912, to Donald and Mary McLeod in Seattle. He attended schools in both Tacoma and Seattle, graduating from Highline High School in 1931. There he met his wife Ruth, and on Jan. 24, 2005, they celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary. They raised four sons together.

During World War II he served in the Merchant Marine, and later established a partnership in marine and industrial supply. He will be remembered as a man of strong character and integrity who was always there for his family and friends.

Survivors include sons Donald, Ian, Alec, and Angus N., all of Seattle, and one daughter, Joan Nelson and her husband Jay of Ellensburg, and five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mary Bradford of California.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Burton Community Church.
