Deborah Texas Moen

Her love, loyalty and dedication to her family will be deeply missed.

Deborah passed on March 29th, 2024, at 68 years young. She left us surrounded by love and family. Born in Renton to Warren and Patricia McCallister, Debbie moved to Vashon Island in 1972. She was taken in by the Neddermans when her family moved away in order to continue at Vashon High School, from which she graduated in 1974. While working at K2, she met her husband and together they had four children. Debbie spent many years working at the Vashon Post Office alongside her son and was happy to retire in 2022.

Debbie’s greatest joy was in the fact that all her grown children lived close by again, meaning someone one was usually available for a lunch date. Days after retiring were filled with many beach and forest walks, watching her newest granddaughter, whipping up new vegan recipes, shopping trips over town and lounging in a sunny lawn chair. Her love, loyalty and dedication to her family will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Terry McCallister. She lives on through her husband Larry Moen, brother Gary McCallister (Michael Parker), sons James Moen and Jonathan Moen, daughters Melissa Galloway (Matt) and Elizabeth Moen (Edward King) and granddaughters Nadia, Jayne and Pearl.

A small family funeral will be held followed by a Celebration of Life mid-May for all who would like to attend.
