James Michael Timmen

He was a tender, kind, funny and smart man.

James Michael Timmen was born in Seattle, Washington, on May 11, 1964, to parents Tim Timmen and Wanda Rainier Anderson. He passed quickly from this life on December 2, 2023, at his home in his sleep.

He was surrounded in his early life by a large and loving family, consisting of his grandparents, Vern and Phyllis Timmen, aunts Tina, Aletha and Linda as well as uncles Terry and Fred. Fred was only five years older and said it was more like Jim was his little brother. They had wonderful fun in Seattle and on Vashon Island.

His family moved to Vashon in 1971. Jim began his school life here and made lifelong friends whom he held dear all his life.

Jim was well liked by all his classmates and a tenacious wrestler at Vashon High School. He had a keen interest in all types of music, loved the Seahawks and was a tender, kind, funny and smart man.

His twins Riley and Rachel were born in April 1995. Rachel preceded him in death.

Jim was a 30-year union carpenter and helped reshape Seattle from the early 90s until his retirement just recently.

Jim is survived by his son Riley, mother and father, his step-mothers Stella and Nancy, as well as his brothers Jon, Flynn, and Gabriel, many nieces, nephews and cousins, dear friends and his life partner Sharon.
