Jane Dunlap Lieser

Jane Dunlap Lieser passed away on March 5, 2010 at Swedish Hospital. She was 89 and two days old. A native Seattleite, Jane was born March 3, 1921, grew up in Lake Forest Park, and attended the University of Washington where she was affiliated with Chi Omega sorority. At the UW she met and married Donald L. Thompson and was active with the Red Cross and the war bond movement while Don was in the Air Force in WWII.

After the war, Jane became the mother of two, Christine and Stuart, and the family resided in Seattle. She was active with the Episcopal Church and in area garden clubs and boating. When Jane and Don divorced, she was re-introduced to Dr. Miles Lieser who she had dated in college. The couple married on July 11, 1969 and Jane moved to Vancouver, Washington with Miles. In Vancouver, Jane was a member of the Portland Japanese Garden, an avid golfer and worked with Hospice as well.

Jane and Miles moved to Vashon Island, Washington in May 2004 to be closer to their children and spent their last two years together at Vashon Community Care. They had been married 40 years at the time of Miles’s death.
