Marisa (Ann) Valencia

Marisa Ann Valencia was born in Seattle on November 14, 1990, and passed on February 4, 2016. She was raised both in Seattle and on Vashon Island, with a large loving family. From a young age she had a magnetic presence, attracting countless friends who were drawn to her big heart, intellect, confidence and infectious energy. In 2000, she was honored as the West Seattle Hi-Yu Junior Queen. Marisa became a mother on July 25, 2012, and her daughter, Cecilia, was the brightest light in her life.

Marisa was loved for her vibrant personality, fearless enthusiasm for life and goofy sense of humor. She undertook any challenge that came her way with determination and unwavering positivity. She loved her family and friends with a rare loyalty and was deeply loved in return by all who knew her. By leaving too soon Marisa took with her a piece of each of us that will forever remain missing.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Tom and Peg Vornbrock, grandmother Lafo Polevia and grandfather Guillermo Valencia.

She is survived by her daughter Cecilia Vornbrock; mother and stepfather Shari Vornbrock and Afa Polevia; father George Valencia; grandfather Esekia Polevia; grandmother Pita Quintero; brothers Simon Polevia, Mauricio (Barbara), Antonio, Javier and Julio Valencia, Alan and Alex (Laquttia Matthews) Polevia; sisters Allie (Jason) Moore and Ereina Valencia (Orko Romero); sister-in-law Judy Avitia; longtime partner Jason Sadler; and dozens of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and many more family and friends who will always hold her memory close to their hearts.

A Memorial Service was held Friday, February 12, 2016, at Our Lady of Guadalupe in West Seattle. Interment followed at Vashon Cemetery.
