Melvin “Mel” Cole McArthur

September 16, 1946 to February 13, 2013

Mel was born in Wenatchee 1946. He Graduated in 1968 with a Communication BA from University of Washington and worked at KIRO TV from 1965 to 2010. Mel also worked for Northwest

Mobile Television, and various ad agencies including Kaye Smith. Mel worked both the 1984 LA Olympics and the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He was a gifted camera, tape and slow mo operator. Please see full obituary at wwwIslandFuneral.com.

Mel leaves behind his companion, Penny Kimmel and her son, Jace Brien of Vashon; his two sons and five grandchildren, John and Monica McArthur and their two children, Hannah and Ashley of Port Orchard, Jay McArthur and his three children Kayla, Peyton, and Cole of Phoenix, Arizona.
