Shelly was the 12th child born to Wes and Ruth Middling and she was a lifelong islander.

For more than 40 years she worked at the K2 factory. She later worked for the Vashon Post Office, from where she retired. In heryounger years, she practiced bowling 300s, and played in the women’s softball league. She enjoyed being with family, crafting and spending time with her dog, Duke.

Shelly is survived by siblings Barbara (Joe), Karla, Tina, Rick (Ann) and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 1st, at the Vashon Sportsmen’s Club at 2:00 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Vashon Island Pet Protectors (VIPP) in Shelly’s honor.
