Have you noticed a large increase of activity for the Vashon Care Network (VCN), including a recent Beachcomber article about our Certified Nursing Assistant classes and scholarships, as well as other photos and ads, a Voice of Vashon broadcast, and posters around town?

There is a lot going on at our Care Closet, too — a resource for free medical equipment and supplies available free of charge to all islanders.

A central effort of our many, many volunteers this past year has been the Care Closet barns, which are now complete and ready for use. Many thanks to Vashon Lutheran Church for sharing their land for the new buildings, and for their patience and support along the way.

Please join us for an Open House of the Care Closet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at 18623 Vashon Highway SW. There are many people to meet and thank. Be aware of the full scope of the community resource offered free of charge.
