Hello,

I feel very fortunate to live in a community that values health care enough to pass a levy to underwrite the additional cost of making health care services available here on the island.

I know that the newly elected commissioners are hard at work developing the infrastructure for this new public health district. I would encourage them to include in their start-up work plan the development of a vision statement for this new health care district. This vision statement, which would presumably be informed by input from the community, would then provide guidance for a community needs assessment and the development of a strategic plan.
