The Pirate boys’ basketball squad, off to a stellar start to their season, is continuing its winning ways.

The team played White River on Dec. 20 at the Showare Center in Kent. The boys started slow but managed to scratch out the win, 45-36.

Ian Stewart led the charge with 16 points for the game, and Jessie Norton notched 13.

The team, with a 7-0 record, is just short of halfway through its season games.

Most recently, the boys made use of their winter vacation and traveled to Phoenix, Arizona, for the Cactus Jam tournament, with the results coming too late for press time.

Soon they will return to their regular school and game schedule, with home games set for 4 p.m. Saturday against St. Michael’s University School in British Columbia and 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, against Seattle Christian. They will be on the road Jan. 6 to the Northwest School.
