Nearly 300 people do the Burby, raise money for scholarships

A total of 294 people completed a walk or run during the 36th Annual Bill Burby Inspirational 10K & 5K Fun Runs & 5K Walk on Saturday morning. From children to seniors, people walked and ran a loop near the north end of town and gave money — in the form of their registration fees — to fund the Bill Burby Wellness Scholarship.

From children to seniors, people walked and ran a loop near the north end of town and gave money — in the form of their registration fees — to fund the Bill Burby Wellness Scholarship.

First-place finishers in the 10K run were Emma Thompson, who finished in 45 minutes, 13.5 seconds; and Aaron Burby, who finished in 37 minutes and 30.7 seconds.

First-place 5K finishers were Elissa Sander, who finished in 19 minutes and 36.3 seconds; and Scott Heally, who completed the run in 17 minutes and 6.7 seconds.
