Coming off a 16-4 season, the Vashon Island High School boys’ basketball team fell to Seattle Christian on Tuesday during a district tournament game, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

The Tuesday game was the first in a set of games to decide which teams will go to state. According to a Tuesday Tacoma News Tribune article, Vashon’s 64-61 loss means that the Pirates will now head into an elimination game against Chimacum on Friday night. If the Pirates win the 6 p.m. game at Sumner High School, the News Tribune reports the team will clinch a spot in the 1A state regionals. A loss will end the Pirates’ season.
