The Vashon High School volleyball team closed out their regular season with a perfect 10-0 record by beating a scrappy Seattle Christian team in three straight last Wednesday. The Pirates played with a very solid, consistent style and look ready to tackle the post-season.

Tomorrow Vashon will host the first round of district playoffs. Charles Wright will face stiff competition from Lynden Christian at 5 p.m. at the VHS  gym, and then Vashon will play the winner of that game at 7 p.m.

If the Pirates win, they have an automatic berth to the state tournament in Yakima on Friday, Nov. 11. If they lose, they will play in the second round of playoffs on Saturday, Nov. 5,  at King’s High School in Shoreline.

After a couple days of well-earned rest, the team got back on the practice court with amped-up intensity and focus. Coach Kara Sears said she is pleased with the progress the girls have made and she is ready for the upcoming playoffs.

“They have all worked very hard this season, and I am looking forward to a great match on Thursday,” she said.
