Vultures dominate Klahowya, look ahead to playoffs

The Vashon Vultures hosted Klahowya on Thursday April 26, but were not very nice hosts. Klahowya had scored their first two goals of season against us the first time we played, and the defense did not intend to let that happen again. This final score this time: Vashon 18 Klahowya 0.

Seniors Duncan McMillan, Carlos Hernandez and Max Schira were recognized at halftime, all players who will be sorely missed.

Vashon also defeated Overlake (non-conference) on Saturday by a score of 10-3. Paris Brown and Max Schira had four each. Calvin McMillan had one goal and three assists. Kiryk Mozeleski had one goal and two assists. Mason Rice had two assists. On the defensive end, Dom Nagle won nine ground balls, followed by Carlos Hernandez with seven.

Vashon has just one league game left, and then playoffs. They have sewed up first in their conference, so they have a bye in the first round of the playoffs, and are likely to meet Liberty in the second round. That game will be Saturday, May 19, at the Delridge fields in West Seattle. Time TBD. See the Vashon Lacrosse website for more details through the playoffs. With a win there, the next game would be Wednesday, May 23. State finals are Saturday, May 26 at Starfire.
