Eight wrestlers from Vashon competed in the South Sound Scuffle, a freestyle and Greco Roman wrestling tournament at Mount Tahoma High School on Saturday, and several returned with medals. There were 650 participants on the freestyle side and 400 in Greco.

The freestyle and Greco wrestling tournaments vary from the usual collegiate style that is wrestled during the regular season. Different moves are allowed, and the scoring system is not the same.

Competing for Vashon were Chase Wickman, Logan Nelson, Franklin Easton, Luke Larson, Hunter Burger, Shane Williams, Colin McIntyre and Chase Bradrick.

Champions on the day were Wickman in freestyle and Nelson, who took top spots in both styles.  Medalists include McIntyre, who took third in freestyle, and Williams, who earned second in Greco. Larson came home third in freestyle.
