VCA hosts free outdoor movie

Vashon Center for the Arts will present the classic 1986 American teen comedy film “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” in an outdoor setting at 8 p.m. Saturday behind the Blue Heron.

Legendary director John Hughes (“The Breakfast Club,” “Sixteen Candles” and “Pretty in Pink”) wrote, directed and co-produced the popular film.

Set in a fictional suburb of Chicago, the film is about high school seniors skipping school and visiting the stock exchange, the Sears Tower and the Art Institute in the film that Hughes called his “love letter to Chicago.”
