Michael Patrick Emmons, originally from Fresno, California, died on November 22, 2018, at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. He was 71.

Born on January 21, 1947, Michael was a carpenter by trade and considered a star surfer, talented artist and honorable soldier during his time in the military. He is survived by a sister, Kelly, in California, and children Sam Emmons, Noella Emmons and Laurel Emmons — all of Vashon — as well as Shelly Fleschute of Scotts Valley, California, Brandon Emmons of Bellingham, Washington, and Pearl Worden of Burlington, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Barbara and Dino Marazzi.

A memorial for family and friends will be announced at a later date.
